Peaches on Politics
This year 74% of the US Department of Agriculture budget will be paid out as “Food Stamps.” In 2012 the US Department of Agriculture will spend $107 billion on welfare. But there is a horrible, and unnecessary, result in the way the USDA is doing this.
This year over $55 billion of food stamps will be spent on foreign produce, meats, and vegatables. The USDA will only devote 19% of it's total budget on American Agriculture meaning only 1/5th of our tax dollars are being spent on agriculture.
Almost no restrictions are placed on food stamps and certainly none on where the meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits come from.
Of the 107 billion spent on food stamps almost half the money leaves the Country...never to return. There are mega farms in Central and South America, paying nothing for labor, using pesticides that are illeagal in the US, and a few land barons and brokers are raking in billions of your tax dollars every year.
Welfare is a good thing. It’s a human thing. And, it’s an American thing. Our Nation of such greatness can feed the poor and downtrodden simply because we have so much to give and it’s the right thing to do.
The wrong thing to do is what the USDA is doing, subsidizing alien farmers and ranches that still spray the vegetables with DDT and inject cattle with growth hormone (did you hear what the Chinese were feeding the Catfish they ship to us?). What kind of nuts is this? Poisoning the people that need help is not humane…it’s genocide.
The best way to feed America is with American food. We grow it. We eat it. We are then fully invested in with what America nourishes our children’s bodies and minds. Haven’t anyone noticed that once America ramped-up importing of (chemically laden) produce and fruits that ADHD rose to epidemic levels.
You have two Senators and one Representative, but you are the one vested with your own governance and that of our Country. Politicians work for you, not the other way around. So this is what you do; call, email, stop by the office (paid for by you), go to a town hall meeting, and tell these politicians enough is enough. Wave your fist, raise your voice. Be heard and stop the insanity.
Tell Congress that America will feed the disadvantaged, but we are going to do it in a smart way for once. With food grown inside our borders and by American farmers. This will do more than feed the poor; it will create jobs and bring healthy food to every American table.

I think that it is a sad reflection on our leaders when the Department of Agriculture becomes the Department of Food Stamps and our Congress is too stupid to realize farmers will just go on food stamps too.
